Title

AN ORDINANCE making a supplemental appropriation of $85,936,000 to the crisis care centers fund; and adding a new section to the 2023-2024 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 19546.

Body

STATEMENT OF FACTS:

1.  In February 2023, Ordinance 19572 placed a nine-year crisis care centers levy on the April 2023 special election ballot to create a regional network of crisis care centers in King County, restore and expand residential treatment capacity, and increase the sustainability and representativeness of the behavioral health workforce in King County.

2.  In April 2023, King County voters approved Proposition No. 1 to authorize the crisis care centers levy from 2024 through 2032.

3.  Ordinance 19572, Section 3., requires proceeds from the crisis care centers levy to be deposited into the crisis care centers fund, or its successor.

4.  Ordinance 19704 created the crisis care centers fund to account for the proceeds from the crisis care centers levy.

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:

                     NEW SECTION.  SECTION 1.  There is hereby added to Ordinance 19546 a new section to read as follows:

                     CRISIS CARE CENTERS FUND - From the crisis care centers fund there is hereby appropriated to:

                     Crisis care centers fund                     $85,936,000

The maximum number of FTEs for crisis care centers fund shall be:                     30.0
