Title

A MOTION approving the five-year technology plan prepared by the department of elections as required in the 2015/2016 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 17941, Section 34, Proviso P1.

Body

                     WHEREAS, the King County council in adopting Ordinance 17941, Section 34, Proviso P1, stated that $500,000 shall not be expended or encumbered until the director of elections transmits a five-year strategic technology plan for the department of elections, and

                     WHEREAS, the proviso requires that the plan shall include, but not be limited to, a description of anticipated major system replacements, as well as new technology projects for 2015 through 2019, and

                     WHEREAS, the director of elections has transmitted to the council a plan that contains the required information responding to the proviso, and

                     WHEREAS, the council has reviewed the plan;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

                     The department of elections five-year strategic technology plan, which is Attachment A to this motion, is hereby approved and the $500,000 that is the subject of

the 2015/16 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 17941, Section 34, Proviso P1, as amended, is hereby released.
