Title
AN ORDINANCE authorizing the executive to enter into an interlocal cooperation agreement for open space acquisition projects with the city of Seattle, for the Salmon Bay acquisition project authorized by Ordinance 14517.
Body
STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1.  Conservation futures tax levy funds are collected through King County as a dedicated portion of the property tax and are, by statute, available only for the acquisition of open space and resource lands.
2.  Ordinance 14714 establishes a process for the distribution of conservation futures tax levy funds, which includes allocation of conservation futures funds by the council.
3.  On November 25, 2002 the King County council adopted Ordinance 14517 and allocated $200,000 in conservation futures funds to the Salmon Bay acquisition project.
4.  The county desires to disburse conservation futures funds to the city of Seattle and suburban cities and must do so by amending existing or executing new interlocal agreements with these jurisdictions.
5.  King County is authorized to enter into an interlocal agreement with the cities pursuant to chapter 39.34 RCW, the Interlocal Cooperation Act.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  The King County executive is hereby authorized to enter into an amendment to the interlocal cooperation agreement with the city of Seattle for
 
conservation futures acquisition projects, in substantially the form attached, for the Salmon Bay acquisition project authorized by Ordinance 14517.
