Title
A MOTION authorizing the King County executive to accept a donation of twenty thousand dollars from Dick's Drive-Ins.
Body
WHEREAS, on September 7, 2007, the council adopted Ordinance 15896 that created a citizen councilor network led by a citizen coordinator, and
WHEREAS, under Ordinance 15896, Section 12, the citizen councilor coordinator shall seek donations from citizen councilor organizational groups, citizen councilors, individuals, community service organizations, businesses and foundations to help cover the costs of the program. When ten thousand dollars in cash donations have been received, the King County auditor shall authorize the citizen councilor coordinator to establish a telephone number, answering service and website to develop a list of the names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses of:
1. Persons interested in serving as citizen councilors, citizen councilor communicators or conveners;
2. Communicators, conveners and councilors in citizen councilor organizational groups; and
3. Persons interested in making donations.
When a total of twenty thousand dollars in cash donations have been received and at least one thousand people have signed up to participate as citizen councilors, the auditor shall initiate a communication process for the citizen councilor network, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 15896 created a citizen councilor fund which made the treasurer the custodian of the fund, and
WHEREAS, under K.C.C. chapter 2.80.010, gifts, bequests and donations, of more than two thousand dollars, shall be accepted on behalf of King County by motion of the county council, and
WHEREAS, the Dick's Drive-Ins, Ltd., L.P. is pleased to have the opportunity to show its support for the King County citizen councilor network, and
