Title

A RESOLUTION authorizing the chair to enter into an ILA with the City of Snoqualmie related to the Riverwalk Project.

Body

                     WHEREAS, the Snoqualmie Riverwalk Project ("Project") is a multibenefit project that increases flood risk resiliency while reconnecting the residents of the City of Snoqualmie ("Snoqualmie") to the Snoqualmie River as a natural resource increasing public access to the river, increasing environmental resiliency, and connecting the Snoqualmie Falls to Three Forks Natural Area, and

                     WHEREAS, the District has identified the need for the Project to implement the principles integrated floodplain management, and

                     WHEREAS, Bellevue and the District desire to purchase 15 identified parcels located in Snoqualmie in furtherance of the Snoqualmie Riverwalk Project ("Project"), and

                     WHEREAS, the Project is included in the District's 2023 Midyear Budget Reallocation Resolution FCD2023-06, in a total amount of $3,000,000 to contribute to the Project, and

                     WHEREAS, Snoqualmie has agreed to serve as the District's service provider for the Project;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT:

                     SECTION 1.  The board of supervisors approves the "Interlocal Agreement for City of Snoqualmie Acquisition of Fifteen Flood-Prone Parcels between the King County Flood Control Zone District and the City of Snoqualmie," Attachment A to this resolution, and authorizes the chair to sign the agreement.
