STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1. Patricia Bracelin Steel served the citizens of King County in a wide range of positions that spanned nearly thirty years, earning the respect and admiration of employees and elected officials in all three branches of county government.
2. Patricia Bracelin Steel was born in Seattle, Washington on April 2, 1945, and was educated at the University of Washington, obtaining her baccalaureate and master's degrees and completing post-master's fellowship work at that institution.
3. Patricia Bracelin Steel began work as a psychiatric social worker with the King County juvenile court.
4. Patricia Bracelin Steel rose through King County government ranks to hold a number of management positions, including budget director, chief financial officer and deputy county executive.
5. In the last year of her life, Patricia Bracelin Steel served as the manager of the facilities management division and was closely involved with major capital projects of vital importance, including the building hereby named in her honor.
6. Patricia Bracelin Steel passed away in Seattle, on July 7, 2002.
7. Patricia Bracelin Steel was admired for her decisiveness, extraordinary intellect, leadership capabilities, and comprehensive knowledge of government. She will be remembered for these professional qualities by all who worked with her, and on a personal level for her infectious laugh, incisive sense of humor, passionate interest in cooking, gardening and the Seattle Mariners and her love of her children and family.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
