Vice Chair Lee moved approval of the July 15, 2024 meeting minutes. There being no

objections, the minutes were approved.

MWPAAC Report

John McClellan, Chair, MWPAAC, provided updates on recent and upcoming

MWPAAC meetings, reviewed his notes on the Wastewater Treatment Division's

document regarding major policy questions, and answered questions from the

members.

Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) Report

Kamuron Gurol, Director, Wastewater Treatment Division, Department of Natural

Resources and Parks, provided updates on the Heathfield Pump Station mechanical

failure on August 15, 2024, site visits from the First Amendment Auditors, documents

that were sent by RWQC members to the Wastewater Treatment Division regarding

biosolids, and recent tours of Wastewater Treatment Division facilities by legislators

and University of Washington employees.

Regional Wastewater Services Plan

John McClellan, Chair, MWPAAC, briefed the committee on MWPAAC's approach to

the Regional Wastewater Services Plan. Jim Simmonds, Supervisor, Comprehensive

Planning, Wastewater Treatment Division, Department of Natural Resources and

Parks, also addresses the committee and answered questions from the members.

The committee held an open discussion on the scoping of this issue and guiding

principles moving forward.
