Councilmember Dembowski moved approval of the minutes of the January 24, 2024  
meeting. Seeing no objections, the minutes were approved.

A MOTION confirming the executive's appointment of Kevin Hollinz, who resides in council district eight,  
to the King County public defense advisory board, representing areas or issues that may affect public  
defense clients, including mental health, substance abuse, military veterans, poverty, juvenile justice and  
immigration issues.  
Melissa Bailey, Council staff, provided an introductory overview. Kevin Hollinz,  
appointee to the King County Public Defense Advisory Board, provided comments on  
his background and interest on serving on the board. William Casey, Communication  
Manager, Department of Public Defense, also addressed the committee.  
A motion was made by Councilmember Dembowski that this Motion be  
Recommended Do Pass Consent. The motion carried by the following vote:

county detention facilities as required by the 2023-2024 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 19546,

Leah Krekel-Zoppi, Council staff, briefed the committee and answered questions from  
the members. Kathryn Olson, Independent Monitor/Consultant, Change Integration,  
Jeneva Cotton, Division Director, Juvenile Detention, Department of Adult and Juvenile  
Detention, and Catherine Pickard, Program/Project Manager, Juvenile Detention,  
Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention, also addressed the committee and  
answered questions from the members.  
A motion was made by Councilmember Dembowski that this Motion be
