The meeting was called to order at 1:41 p.m.

Mr. von Reichbauer led the flag salute and Pledge of Allegiance.
 
Approval of Minutes of April 8, 2002

Mr. von Reichbauer moved to approve the minutes of the April 8, 2002 meeting without reading.
Seeing no objection, the Chair so ordered.
 
Reports on Special and Outside Committees

Ms. Hague commented on her participation at the Western Washington meeting of the Washington
Association of Counties, and in particular the budget situations that have arisen in all counties as a
result of the legislative session. She also indicated that King County was well represented at the
meeting. The Chair thanked those members who were in attendance and Ms. Hague for all of her
hard work on King County's behalf.
The Chair recognized Mr. Phillips for having received the Public Official of the Year Award from
1000 Friends of Washington, and acknowledged a number of areas to which he had given his
support. Mr. Phillips thanked the Council.

Proposed Ordinance No. 2002-0153 Mr. von Reichbauer and Ms. Sullivan
AN ORDINANCE relating to the council's rules, providing for referral of motions
confirming board and commission reappointments directly to the council's consent agenda;
and amending Ordinance 11683, Section 5, as amended, and K.C.C. 1.24.045, Ordinance
11683, Section 9, as amended, and K.C.C. 1.24.085, and Ordinance 11683, Section 14, as
amended, and K.C.C. 1.24.135.
On 4/15/2002, a public hearing was held and closed.
The enacted number is 14336.

by and between King County and Office & Professional Employees International Union,
Local 8 (department of public health prevention division; department of community and
human services mental health, chemical abuse and dependency services) representing
employees in the departments of public health and community and human services; and
establishing the effective date of said agreement.
On 4/15/2002, a public hearing was held and closed.
The enacted number is 14338.
