Call to Order
The meeting of the Natural Resources, Parks and Open Space Committee was called to order at 1:34
P.M. by Chair Edmonds.

Approval of Minutes

The minutes of May 15, 2003 meeting were approved as written.

Proposed Ordinance No. 2003-0212 Ms. Edmonds
AN ORDINANCE authorizing annual funding allocation procedures for conservation
futures funds; and amending Ordinance 8867, Section 1, as amended, and K.C.C.
26.12.010.
Monica Clarke, Council Staff, briefed the Committee. Terry Lavender, Chair, King County Citizens
Oversight Committee; Mark Johnson; Susan Golub and Donald Harris, City of Seattle were present
to brief and answer questions from the Committee.

The meeting was recessed by the Chair at 2:17 P.M.
The meeting was reconvened by the Chair at 2:41 P.M.
A motion was made by Mr. Irons that this matter be Passed Out of Committee Without a
Recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote:
Votes:
Yes: 4 - Ms. Edmonds, Mr. Irons, Mr. Phillips and Mr. Constantine
No: 0
Excused: 1 - Mr. von Reichbauer

Proposed Motion No. 2003-0262 Ms. Edmonds
A MOTION authorizing the county executive to implement a permanent parking system at
Marymoor park.
Marilyn Cope, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Proposed Motion 2003-0262. Bob Burns,
Acting Division Director and Kevin Brown, Capital Projects Manager, Parks Division were present
to brief and answer questions from the Committee on the Power Point presentation.

Parks Levy Debriefing: Next Steps

Mike Reed, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Parks Levy. Bob Burns, Acting Division
Director, Parks Division and Dave Marks, Fairgrounds Manager, Parks and Recreation Division
were present to brief and answer questions from the Committee with a Power Point presentation.
This matter was Presented.
