Call to Order
The meeting of the Transportation Committee was called to order at 1:29 P.M. by the Chair.

Excused: Ms. Edmonds and Mr. Gossett
 
Approval of Minutes

The minutes of the June 12, 2002 meeting were approved as written.
Discussion and Possible Action

Proposed Motion No. 2002-0272 Mr. Pelz
A MOTION confirming the executive's appointment of Dick Burkhart, who resides in
council district five, to the King County transit advisory committee.
Doug Hodson, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Proposed Motion 2002-0272. Mr. Burkhart
was present to brief and answer questions of the Committee regarding his appointment to the King
County transit advisory committee.
A motion was made by Mr. McKenna that this matter be Recommended Do Pass Consent. The
motion carried by the following vote:
Votes:
Yes: 5 - Mr. Pelz, Mr. McKenna, Ms. Lambert, Mr. Irons and Ms. Patterson
No: 0
Excused: 2 - Ms. Edmonds and Mr. Gossett

Proposed Motion No. 2002-0273 Mr. McKenna
A MOTION confirming the executive's appointment of Lynn Johnson, who resides in
council district six, to the King County transit advisory committee.
Doug Hodson, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Proposed Motion 2002-0273. Ms. Johnson
was present to brief and answer questions of the Committee regarding her appointment to the King
County transit advisory committee.
A motion was made by Mr. McKenna that this matter be Recommended Do Pass Consent. The
motion carried by the following vote:

No: 0

Proposed Ordinance No. 2002-0216 Ms. Edmonds
AN ORDINANCE authorizing King County executive to enter into a fifty-year agreement
to lease park and ride stalls on private property adjacent to the Kenmore park and ride lot.
Arthur Thornbury, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Proposed Ordinance 2002-0216. Ed
Walker, Senior Project Manager, Transit Oriented Development Office, was present to brief and
answer questions of the Committee.
A motion was made by Mr. McKenna that this matter be Recommended Do Pass. The motion
carried by the following vote:

Yes: 4 - Mr. Pelz, Mr. McKenna, Mr. Irons and Ms. Patterson
No: 1 - Ms. Lambert
Excused: 2 - Ms. Edmonds and Mr. Gossett

Proposed Motion No. 2002-0240 Mr. Irons
A MOTION authorizing the county executive to enter into an interlocal agreement with the
city of Issaquah regarding the improvements to East Lake Sammamish Parkway and
transfer of road-related property.

Doug Hodson, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Proposed Motion 2002-0240.
A motion was made by Mr. Irons that this matter be Recommended Do Pass Consent. The
motion carried by the following vote:

No: 0

Proposed Ordinance No. 2002-0276 Ms. Hague
AN ORDINANCE relating to road names, changing the names of 76th Avenue Northeast,
Northeast 112th Street, and 73rd Avenue Northeast to Champagne Point Road Northeast,
changing the name of 75th Avenue Northeast to Champagne Point Lane Northeast and
changing the name of a portion of Northeast 112th Street to Northeast Champagne Point
Place.
Doug Hodson, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Proposed Ordinance 2002-0276. The
following people were present to offer public testimony:

motion carried by the following vote:

Paul Carlson, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on the Road Services Division Flexible Response
Budgeting Report. Linda Dougherty, Manager, Road Services Division, Department of
Transportation was present to answer questions of the Committee.
This matter was Presented.

There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 2:46
