Councilmember Dembowski moved to approve the minutes of the July 7, 2026,  
meeting as presented. Seeing no objection, the Chair so ordered.

Issue Briefing  
Jeff Bjornstad, President of Federal Affairs and Strategic Communications,  
Washington2 Advocates, provided an update on federal partnerships and local  
priorities. Mac Nicholson, Director of Government Relations, answered questions of the  
Council.  
Miranda Leskinen, Policy Staff, briefed the Council on Proposed Motion 2026-0084,  
potential amendments, and answered questions.

Councilmember Update  
Councilmember Dunn spoke about the King County Substance Use Disorders  
Conference occurring on July 23, 2026.  
Councilmember Mosqueda reported on a recent tour of the Orca Center and STAR  
Center facilities run by Downtown Emergency Services Center.  
Councilmember Perry reminded the Council of the annual Council picnic on July 23,  
2026, at Marymoor Park.

Intergovernmental/Outside Committee Updates  
Stephanie Cirkovich, Chief of Staff, provided an update on the Inspector General hiring  
process.
