The meeting was called to order at 1:40 p.m.

Approval of Minutes of October 14, 2002

Mr. von Reichbauer moved to approve the minutes of the October 14, 2002 meeting without reading.
Seeing no objection, the Chair so ordered.
 
Reports on Special and Outside Committees

Ms. Patterson reported on the Seattle Chamber Leadership Conference in Vancouver, B.C.,
indicating there were many excellent seminars. One seminar regarding education and the business
community's recommendations on how to proceed forward to make sure that we have an adequately
educated work force in our area. Ms. Patterson indicated funding for higher education was of great
concern and also the importance of pre-school education.
Councilmembers Lambert, Pelz and Sullivan, also in attendance, commented on the Conference,
mentioning the excellent speeches, the uniqueness in the attendance of many suburban cities and
satisfaction with King County as a regional government.
