Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the April 26, 2005 and May 10, 2005 meetings of the Labor, Operations and |
Technology Committee were approved as presented. |

Proposed Motion No. 2005-0191
Ms. Patterson
A MOTION confirming the executive's appointment of Lucy Krakowiak, who resides in |
council district thirteen, to the King County library system board of trustees. |
Joanne Rasmussen, Council Staff, briefed the committee. Lucy Krakowiak, appointee to the King |
County Library System Board of Trustees, and Bill Ptacek, Director, King County Library System, |
answered questions from the members. |
A motion was made by Mr. Constantine that this matter be Recommended Do Pass Consent. |
The motion carried by the following vote: |
Yes: 3 - Ms. Hague, Mr. Constantine and Mr. Irons |
Excused: 2 - Ms. Patterson and Mr. Pelz |

Proposed Ordinance No. 2005-0216
Ms. Hague and Mr. Phillips
AN ORDINANCE approving and adopting the collective bargaining agreement negotiated by |
and between King County and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 77, |
representing employees in the departments of transportation and executive services; and |
establishing the effective date of said agreement. |
Peggy Dorothy, Council Staff, briefed the committee. Art Lockin, IBEW Local 77, answered questions |
from the members. Bob Stanford, Signal Technician, Road Services, Department of Transportation, |
answered questions from the members on the work of building and maintaining traffic control systems. |
A motion was made by Mr. Constantine that this matter be Recommended Do Pass. The motion |
carried by the following vote: |

David Randall, Council Staff, briefed the committee. Maria Batayola, Employment and Diversity |
Manager, DES, and Michael Frawley, Deputy Director, Human Resources Division, DES, answered |
questions from the members. |
Mr. Constantine moved Amendment 1 which incorporates the citizen 504-ADA Advisory Committee |
recommendation to delete the reference to a person with disability's ability to obtain, maintain, or |
advance in employment. The amendment passed unanimously. |
This matter was Amended.
A motion was made by Mr. Constantine that this matter be Recommended Do Pass Substitute |
Consent. The motion carried by the following vote: |

Sheriff's Office, and Sandy Werner, Manager, Compensation Management Services Human Resources |
Division, DES, answered questions from the members. |
