Councilmember Perry moved approval of the May 26, 2026 meeting minutes. There  
being no objections, the minutes were approved.

Proposed Motion No. 2026-0081  
A MOTION confirming the appointment of Susan McLaughlin as director of the King County department  
of community and human services.  
Sam Porter, Council staff, and Hyeok Kim, Chief Operating Officer, King County  
Executive’s Office, briefed the committee. Dr. Susan McLaughlin, appointee, also  
briefed the committee and answered questions from the members.  
This item was expedited to the June 16, 2026 meeting of the Metropolitan King County  
Council.  
Councilmember Dembowski requested to be added as a sponsor for this item.  
A motion was made by Councilmember Mosqueda that this motion be  
recommended do pass consent. The motion carried by the following vote:

from the members. Hyeok Kim, Chief Operating Officer, King County Executive’s  
Office, Aaron Rubardt, Chief Budget Officer, King County Executive’s Office, and  
Amber Green, Deputy Director, Department of Community and Human Services, also  
briefed the committee via PowerPoint presentation and answered questions from the  
members.  
This matter was presented.
