Approval of Minutes of August 23, 2004

Mr. Gossett moved to approve the minutes of the August 23, 2004 meeting as presented. Seeing no
objection, the Chair so ordered.
 
Special Item
2.
Presentation of a Recognition to the members of the Citizens' Election Oversight Committee
for their contributions to help restore voter confidence in King County
Ms. Hague commended the dedication and hard work of the Citizens' Election Oversight Committee.
She read the recognition and introduced the following committee members: Brad Henry, Tyler Page,
Sheryl Moss, Ellen Hansen and Michael Snyder. Ms. Hague presented each with a recognition. Mr.
Page spoke on behalf of the group.
 
Reports on Special and Outside Committees
3.
Mr. Pelz briefed the Council on the Sound Transit Board. The Board had a report on the Tacoma
link which is now one year in existence. It has carried 750,000 passengers, four months earlier than
projected. The Board also discussed the agreement regarding private security, which will be under
further review.
Mr. von Reichbauer added that dedication ceremonies will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Federal Way on
Wednesday, September 1 and invited members to attend.
