Call to Order
The meeting of the Natural Resources, Parks and Open Space Committee was called to order at 1:37
P.M.

Approval of Minutes

The minutes of December 12, 2002 and February 6, 2003 meeting were approved as written.

Mr. Pelz
AN ORDINANCE authorizing the executive to enter into an amendment to the
Conservation Futures Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with the city of Lake Forest Park
for the Grace Cole Memorial park acquisition project, authorized under Ordinance 14409.
Mike Reed, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Proposed Ordinance 2003-0049. There was an
amendment #1 adopted. This matter passed out a committee subject to signatures.
A motion was made by Mr. von Reichbauer that this matter be Recommended Do Pass
Substitute. The motion carried by the following vote:
Votes:
Yes: 3 - Ms. Edmonds, Mr. Phillips and Mr. von Reichbauer
No: 0
Excused: 2 - Mr. Irons and Mr. Constantine

2002-0593.2

AN ORDINANCE authorizing the executive to enter into an interlocal agreement between
King County and the city of Kent for transfer of the Kent pool to the city; and declaring an
emergency.
Mike Reed, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Proposed Ordinance 2002-0593. There was an
amendment adopted. This matter passed out a committee subject to signatures.
A motion was made by Mr. von Reichbauer that this matter be Recommended Do Pass
Substitute. The motion carried by the following vote:

Yes: 3 - Ms. Edmonds, Mr. Phillips and Mr. von Reichbauer
No: 0

Metropolitan Parks Task Force Phase II Report on Parks Funding
Monica Clarke, Council Staff, briefed the Committee. Karen Reed, Special Projects Coordinator,
Budget Office; Gene Duvernoy, Co-Chair and Lynn Claudon, Members of the Metropolitan Parks
Task Force were present to brief and answer questions from the Committee on the Metropolitan
Parks Task Force Phase II Report on Parks Funding.

This matter was Presented.
