Reports on Special and Outside Committees

Mr. Irons reported on the Regional Transportation Investment District Executive Board meeting. He
indicated Cascadia gave an overview on transportation, and a new timeline was distributed from the
new staff.
Ms. Patterson added that the Board received a report on the results of the polling efforts of the three
counties regarding transportation issues, and indicated there will be a summit in early January
where an extensive analysis of the polling results will take place.

Ms Edmonds reported on the State Board of Health meeting. The Board received a report on how
other states structure their Boards of Health. The Board also received a report from the Department
of Health and Department of Ecology on mercury chemical action plans. The Board discussed
upcoming legislative issues facing the Department of Health.

Mr. Phillips reported on the Cedar Sammamish Watershed Steering Committee (WRIA 8). The
Committee heard from staff regarding the salmon plan update and also a proposal regarding public
review plan. Mr. Phillips commented that Margaret Pageler, Vice Chair of the committee, attended
her last meeting, and the committee thanked her for her years of service.

Ms. Hague moved to adopt the DDES finding of fact that the final plat of Laurel Springs complies
with the conditions of preliminary plat approval and other applicable laws, and that the Chair is
authorized to signify Council approval by signing the final plat at the end of the meeting. Seeing no
objection, the Chair so ordered.

Presentation of Recognition to honor three Federal Way School District Teachers

 

 

Mr. von Reichbauer presented a Certificate of Recognition to Ginger Smith and Jennifer
VonDoehren, Physical Education teachers at Sacajawea Middle School, Federal Way, who have in
times of crisis, used their emergency medical training to aid their students. Ginger and Jennifer
thanked the Council.

 

 

Presentation of Recognitions to Ellen Petre, Marilyn Kihara, Paul Gaskill and Helen Keegan for
their efforts in temporarily relocating council offices from the Courthouse to the Bank of
America Tower

 

 

Mr. von Reichbauer praised Legislative Branch employees, Ellen Petre, Marilyn Kihara, Paul
Gaskill and Helen Keegan for their efforts in temporarily relocating council offices from the
Courthouse to the Bank of America Tower and presented them with certificates of recognition. Ellen

the county to finance construction of a major league baseball stadium and related parking
facilities; providing for the form, terms, covenants and other provisions of said refunding
bonds; authorizing a plan of refunding and the appointment of an escrow agent to
accomplish such plan of refunding; providing for the sale of the bonds and the disposition
of the proceeds of sale; establishing funds for the receipt and expenditure of bond proceeds
and for the payment of the bonds; providing for the annual levy of taxes to pay the principal
thereof and interest thereon; and pledging certain taxes and revenues as additional security
for the bonds.
