Reports on Special and Outside Committees

Mr. Irons reported on the recent meeting of the Eastside Transportation Partnership subcommittee
on Sound Transit. The committee drafted policies that will be sent to the ETP for evaluating projects
that could be funded through unallocated funds for the eastside. There was discussion on whether to
hold the money for Phase II or spend it on Phase I. Mr. Irons indicated there was very good
discussion between Sound Transit and the Eastside Transportation Partnership.

Other Business
As a personal privilege, Mr. Pelz indicated that Councilmember Hammond has demonstrated a sense
of class, and thanked him for his token of fresh strawberries from a farm in the Green Valley area for
the councilmembers. Mr. Hammond made comments.

Mr. Phillips informed the councilmembers of the passing of Vim Wright, a GOP activist and leader in
environmental causes. Some of her achievements and credits: founding member of the Puget Sound
Alliance, assistant director of the University of Washington's Institute for Environmental Studies, her
effective communication skills and her ability to work with the farming community.

Mr. Phillips reported on the Youth Sport Facility Grant Fund and identified the following award
recipients: Burien, Shoreline, Kent, Highline, Auburn, North Bend, Mercer Island and Seattle.
