Call to Order
The Metropolitan King County Council's Committee-of-the-Whole meeting was called to order at 9:53
a.m. by Madam Chair Sullivan.

2. Approval of Minutes of September 16, 2002 and September 23, 2002
Councilmember von Reichbauer moved to approve the meeting minutes of September 16, 2002 and
September 23, 2002 as presented. The motion passed.

 
Special Recognitions

3. Proclaiming the month of October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
Council Chair Sullivan read and presented the special recognition proclaiming the month of October
as National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Sue Ammeter and Jeanette Murphy, Associate Director, Washington State Coalition of Citizens with
Disabilities, thanked the Committee for the proclamation.

4. Recognizing Heidi Seidelhuber and Terry Seaman for their successful restoration of the
Pioneer Square Pergola and years of community service.
Council Chair Sullivan, Councilmember Irons and City of Seattle Mayor, Greg Nickels, read and
presented the special recognition to Heidi Seidelhuber and Terry Seaman for their successful
restoration of the Pioneer Square Pergola and years of community service.

Heidi Seidelhuber and Terry Seaman, thanked the Committee for the special recognition.

5. Recognizing the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Foundation of Washington for 40
years of successful community service.
Councilmember Lambert read and presented the special recognition to the Sudden Death Syndrome
(SIDS) Foundation of Washington for 40 years of successful community services.

Irene Endicott and Deborah Robinson, thanked the Committee for the special recognition.

A briefing on the operations of Earth Corps (formerly known as the King County World
Conservation Corps) and their efforts to develop cross-cultural understanding while
completing environmental restoration projects in the Puget Sound region.

point presentation.
