Call to Order
The meeting of the Natural Resources, Parks and Open Space Committee was called to order at 1:50
P.M. by the Chair Edmonds.

Present: Ms. Edmonds, Mr. Irons, Mr. Phillips and Mr. von Reichbauer
Excused: Mr. Constantine
 
Approval of Minutes

The minutes of September 19, 2002 meeting were approved as written.

Proposed Motion No. 2002-0142 Mr. Pullen
A MOTION confirming the executive's appointment of George Irwin, who resides in
council district nine, to the King County agriculture commission.
Mike Reed, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Proposed Motion 2002-0142. Mr. George Irwin,
appointee to the King County agriculture commission was present to brief and answer questions
from the Committee. This matter passed out of committee subject to signature.
A motion was made by Mr. Irons that this matter be Recommended Do Pass Consent. The
motion carried by the following vote:
Votes:
Yes: 4 - Ms. Edmonds, Mr. Irons, Mr. Phillips and Mr. von Reichbauer
No: 0
Excused: 1 - Mr. Constantine

Proposed Motion No. 2002-0378 Mr. Irons and Mr. Phillips
A MOTION confirming the executive's appointment of Wade Holden, who resides in
council district twelve, to the King County conservation futures citizen oversight
committee.
Mike Reed, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Proposed Motion 2002-0378. Mr. Wade Holden,
appointee to King County conservation futures citizen oversight committee was present to brief and
answer questions from the Committee.
A motion was made by Mr. Irons that this matter be Recommended Do Pass Consent. The
motion carried by the following vote:
Votes:
Yes: 3 - Ms. Edmonds, Mr. Irons and Mr. von Reichbauer
No: 0
Excused: 2 - Mr. Phillips and Mr. Constantine

Proposed Ordinance No. 2002-0450 Ms. Edmonds
AN ORDINANCE concerning parks, finances, facilities and operations related to the
Business Transition Phase II Report.
Mike Reed, Council Staff, briefed the Committee on Proposed Ordinance 2002-0450 with a power
point presentation. The following people were present to offer public testimony:
1. Nancy Bruce, 1667 SW 176th St., Normandy Park, WA 98166
2. Julie Mitchell, 20024 - 3rd Place SW., Normandy Park, WA 98166
3. Will Knedlik, PO Box 99, Kirkland, WA 98083.

The Committee members directed the staff with a statement of consent to forward this to Full Council
for further action.
