Councilmember Larry Phillips was sworn in by King County Superior Court Judge Richard Eadie.
Mr. Phillips thanked Judge Eadie for the honor of performing his swearing in and gave special
thanks to his sister Sarah and her husband John for their presence.

Councilmember Bob
Ferguson was sworn in by King County Superior Court Judge Richard Eadie.
Mr. Ferguson introduced his mother and father, Betty and Murray Ferguson, and acknowledged the
presence of other family members.

Councilmember Rob McKenna was sworn in by King County Superior Court Judge Richard Eadie.
Mr. McKenna introduced his wife, Marilyn and four children, gave special thanks to his staff, and
acknowledged and thanked King County Sheriff David Reichert and King County Prosecuting
Attorney, Norm Maleng, for their presence.

Councilmember Steve Hammond was sworn in by King County District Court, Chief Presiding Judge
Wesley Saint Clair. He thanked all councilmembers, his family and staff for their support and
introduced Fay Pullen, widow of Councilmember Kent Pullen.

Councilmember Larry Gossett was sworn in by King County District Court Chief Presiding Judge
Wesley Saint Clair. He introduced his wife Rhonda and gave special thanks to his staff.

Councilmember David Irons was sworn in by King County District Court Chief Presiding Judge
Wesley Saint Clair. He thanked Judge Eadie and Judge Saint Clair, acknowledged and thanked
Sheriff David Reichert and King County Prosecuting Attorney, Norm Maleng for their presence, and
introduced his wife Debbie, his three daughters, and his sister Janet and her son, Bill.

 

 

The Chair recessed the meeting at 2:08 p.m.

Mr. von Reichbauer moved to relieve Committee-of-the-Whole of further consideration in order to
take action on Proposed Motion 2003-0547. Seeing no objection, the Chair so ordered.

Scott White, Council staff, answered questions of the Council and introduced the three candidates.

State Representative Cheryl Pflug answered questions of the Council.
Jay Rodne, Snoqualmie City Councilmember, answered questions of the Council.
Kathryn J. Kaluzny requested to withdraw her name as a candidate, in favor and support of
Representative Cheryl Pflug.

Mr. Irons moved to amend Proposed Motion 2003-0547, on page 2, line 12, to insert the name
"Cheryl Pflug". The motion carried by the following vote:
