A MOTION accepting a report on the pretrial defendants charged with violent or sex crimes who were participants in community corrections alternatives to detention programs in 2009 and the first half of 2010, as required in Ordinance 16953, Section 4.

      WHEREAS, the King County council in Ordinance 16953, Section 4, required the approval by motion of a report on the pre-trial defendants charged with violent or sex crimes who were participants in community corrections alternatives to detention programs in 2009 and the first half of 2010, and
      WHEREAS, the executive has transmitted to the council with this motion the report called for in the proviso, and
      WHEREAS, the report includes the defendant's history of convictions for violent or sex crimes in the prior ten years, the rate at which the defendant failed to appear in court during the defendant's participation in the alternative, the number of defendants booked into the King County jail on a new crime during participation in the alternative and the number of defendants who failed to comply with the conditions of pretrial release using an alternative program;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The report identifying pretrial defendants charged with violent or sex crimes who participated in community correction alternatives to detention programs in 2009 and the first half of 2010, which is Attachment A to this motion, is hereby accepted.
