Title
A MOTION appointing committees to write the voters' pamphlet statements for and against the charter amendment placed on the ballot by Ordinance 16885 for the November 2, 2010, election.
Body
      WHEREAS, K.C.C. chapter 1.10 provides for the publication and distribution of local voters' pamphlets in conformity with the provisions of chapter 29A.32 RCW for annual general elections held in King County, and
      WHEREAS, RCW 29A.32.280 provides that for each measure from a unit of local government that is included in a local voters' pamphlet, the legislative authority of that jurisdiction shall formally appoint a committee to prepare arguments advocating voter approval of the measure and a committee to prepare arguments advocating voter rejection of the measure, and
      WHEREAS, Ordinance 16885, passed by the council on July 19, 2010, provided for submission to the voters at the November 2, 2010, general election of a charter amendment that would:  (1) amend Section 690 of the King County Charter to specify that timely filing of a statement of campaign receipts and expenditures with the Washington state Public Disclosure Commission in accordance with chapter 42.17 RCW satisfies the filing obligations of Section 690 of the King County Charter; and (2) make technical corrections to Section 690 of the King County Charter;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      Pursuant to RCW 29A.32.280, the following individuals are appointed to serve on the voters' pamphlet committees for the charter amendment proposed in Ordinance 16885, each committee to write a statement for or against the proposed amendment, for the 2010 general election:
