A MOTION acknowledging receipt of the report related to improving language access for both petitioners and respondents of protection orders as required by the 2023-2024 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 19546, Section 35, Proviso P2.

                     WHEREAS, the 2022-2023 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 19546, Section 35, Proviso P2, states that $100,000 shall not be expended or encumbered until the executive transmits a report describing expenditures related to improving language access for both petitioners and respondents of protection orders as required in Proviso P2, and a motion acknowledging receipt of the report, and the motion is passed by the council, and

                     WHEREAS, the executive has deemed it appropriate for superior court to transmit the report outlined in Proviso P2 directly to the council, and

                     WHEREAS, superior court has transmitted to the council the report requested in Proviso P2 entitled Civil Protection Order Language Access Improvements Report along with a motion acknowledging receipt thereof by January 4, 2024;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

                     The council hereby acknowledges receipt of the Civil Protection Order Language

Access Improvements Report, Attachment A to this motion, as required by the 2023-2024 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 19546, Section 35, Proviso P2.
