Title

AN ORDINANCE authorizing the manager of treasury operations of King County to cancel the attached list of uncollectible personal property taxes in the amount of $1,403,179 for the years 2015 through 2022.

Body

STATEMENT OF FACTS:

1.  The duly appointed manager of treasury operations of King County, Washington, has made an affidavit pursuant to the terms of RCW 84.56.240 and 84.56.260 to the King County council relating the manager's or staff's diligent search and inquiry for goods and chattels of the persons appearing on the list of delinquent taxpayers and the manager's or staff's inability to find any such property from which the taxes could be collected.

2.  The duly appointed manager of treasury operations of King County, Washington, has requested that the King County council cancel the taxes consistent with RCW 84.56.240.

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:

                     SECTION 1.  The taxes in the amount of $1,403,179 as indicated in Attachments A, B and C to this ordinance, from the records of treasury operations for the years 2015 through 2022, shall be cancelled, but the obligation to King County is not forgiven.  The

manager of treasury operations of King County is hereby authorized to cancel the taxes on the tax rolls.
