Title

A RESOLUTION designating the order in which the vice-chairs of the King County Board of Health may act in the absence of the chair in 2023.

Body

                     WHEREAS, on April 16, 2009, the King County Board of Health adopted operating rules for the board through BOH R&R 09-04, and

                     WHEREAS, on May 19, 2021, the King County Board of Health adopted BOH R&R 22-02 updating the membership of the board in accordance with Chapter 205, Laws of Washington 2021, modifying the structure of local boards of health, and

                     WHEREAS, the adopted operating rules state that the board shall designate annually two vice-chairs, one representing the city and county officials, and one representing nonelected members, and

                     WHEREAS, the adopted operating rules state that, in the absence of the chair, a vice-chair will exercise the duties, powers and prerogatives of the chair, and

                     WHEREAS, the adopted operating rules state that each year the board shall designate by resolution the order in which the vice-chairs may act in absence of the chair, and

                     WHEREAS, the adopted operating rules state that the order of the vice-chairs shall rotate annually;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF HEALTH OF KING COUNTY:

                     For 2023, the board designates the following order in which the vice-chairs may act in absence of the chair:

                     A.  Vice-chair representing nonelected members; and

                     B.  Vice-chair representing city and county officials.
