A RESOLUTION approving an interlocal agreement with King County for the provision of flood protection projects and services.
Body
WHEREAS, the District desires to carry out its mission to provide flood protection projects and services throughout the County as efficiently and effectively as possible; and
WHEREAS, the County, through its Department of Natural Resources and Parks, provides a full range of flood protection projects and services, as well as related services, such as public outreach and public information, budget preparation, legislative support, project management and other support services; and
WHEREAS, the District and the County entered into an Interlocal Agreement regarding support services for the period January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008; and
WHEREAS, the District desires to approve a new Interlocal Agreement with the County, which will authorize the County to continue to provide flood protection projects and services through December 31, 2010, with an option to extend the provision of such projects and services through December 31, 2012;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT that the chair of the Board is authorized to sign the “Interlocal Agreement Between King County and the King County Flood Control Zone District Regarding Flood Protection Services” attached to this Resolution as Attachment A.
