Title
A RESOLUTION approving a form of interlocal agreement between the District and King County municipalities regarding distribution of opportunity funds for subregional flooding projects, and authorizing the District Executive Director to sign such agreements.
Body
WHEREAS, in Resolutions FCZD 2008-10.2 and 2008-15.2, the Board of Supervisors allocated ten percent of the District's annual property tax revenues for a sub-regional opportunity fund to be used by King County municipalities for certain projects as authorized by such resolutions; and
WHEREAS, the opportunity funds will be allocated for the years 2008 and 2009; and
WHEREAS, the Water and Land Resources Division of the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks, on behalf of the District, has solicited applications from municipalities for opportunity fund projects to be considered by the Board of Supervisors in early 2009; and
WHEREAS, in order for the Water and Land Resources Division and the District Executive Director to process and review the applications appropriately, it is necessary for the Division and the Executive Director to submit to the municipalities for their review a form of interlocal agreement for opportunity fund projects that will be approved by the Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors desires to authorize the District Executive Director to sign interlocal agreements for approved opportunity fund projects that are substantially similar to an approved form of interlocal agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT as follows:
SECTION 1: The Board of Supervisors approves the form of "Interlocal Cooperation Agreement Between the King County Flood Control Zone District and the City of ____________for Opportunity Fund Projects" attached to this resolution.
