A MOTION authorizing the executive to accept a donation of emergency preparedness kits designed for first responders from American Preparedness/Success Marketing Inc. to the King County sheriff's office; the value of this gift is forty thousand dollars.
Body
WHEREAS, American Preparedness/Success Marketing Inc. assembles emergency preparedness and other equipment at a workshop in Burien for the developmentally disabled, and
WHEREAS, American Preparedness/Success Marketing Inc. has manufactured emergency preparedness kits for government, businesses, and national disaster relief organizations for almost twenty years, and
WHEREAS, the kits contain basic seventy-two-hour survival supplies such as food, water and first aid supplies. and
WHEREAS, the commissioned officers and other sheriff's staff would be the first responders to any emergency or natural disaster in King County, and
WHEREAS, American Preparedness/Success Marketing Inc. wishes to make a donation of up to one thousand kits with a total value of forty thousand dollars to the King County sheriff's office to benefit first responders;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
The executive is authorized executive to accept a donation of emergency preparedness kits designed for first responders from American Preparedness/Success Marketing Inc. for the King County sheriff's office.
