Title
A MOTION extending the regional water quality committee's review period of Proposed Ordinance 2005-0523.
Body
WHEREAS, Proposed Ordinance 2005-0523 relating to amendments to the Regional Wastewater Services Plan was originally acted on by the regional water quality committee on December 15, 2005, and
WHEREAS, Proposed Ordinance 2005-0523 was subsequently reviewed, amended by the growth management and natural resources committee and recommended for passage to the county council, and
WHEREAS, the county council subsequently rereferred Proposed Ordinance 2005-0523 to the regional water quality committee on June 19, 2006, in accordance with the council rules in K.C.C. 1.24.065, regarding council and regional committee review of regional plans and policies, and
WHEREAS, K.C.C. 1.24.065 specifies the rules governing regional committees and allow each regional committee sixty days to review legislation rereferred back to committee or such other time as is jointly established between the council and the committee and is confirmed in the form of a council motion, and
WHEREAS, the regional water quality committee is still in the process of reviewing these amendments and considering its recommendations, and
WHEREAS, August 18, 2006, marks the sixtieth day of rereferral of Proposed Ordinance 2005-0523, and
WHEREAS, K.C.C. 1.24.065 allows regional committees to request additional time for review of referred legislation by motion to the county council, and
WHEREAS, the regional water quality committee anticipates the need for additional time to study and review the Regional Wastewater Services Plan amendments before making its recommendation to the full council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
The regional water quality committee period of review of the Regional Wastewater Services Plan is extended an additional sixty days until October 18, 2006.
