Title
A MOTION adopting the 2006 work program for the labor, operations and technology committee.
Body
      WHEREAS, the labor, operations and technology committee is charged with considering and making policy recommendations relating to the management, organizational structure, customer service, efficiency, cost effectiveness and performance of county departments, and
      WHEREAS, the committee is also charged with considering and making recommendations relating to the annual audit program, and
      WHEREAS, the council designated the committee as the labor implementation committee responsible for implementing labor policy, and
      WHEREAS, the committee is charged with considering and making recommendations on labor agreements and municipal services contracts, and
      WHEREAS, the committee is also charged with considering and making policy recommendations relating to information technology, cable communication and telecommunications, and
      WHEREAS, King County continues to experience shortfalls in its current expense fund, and
      WHEREAS, the committee has, therefore, developed a work plan for 2006 to facilitate its review of policy options and development of policy recommendations to assist in cost effective solutions to these continuing general fund financial problems, and
      WHEREAS, the committee seeks to be fully transparent and accountable to the public for its work program, and
      WHEREAS, the committee seeks full council involvement in and support for its work program;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
 
      The labor, operations and technology committee's 2006 work program, as attached to this motion, is hereby adopted.
