Title
AN ORDINANCE approving and adopting the Multi-Jurisdictional Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan, as approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Body
STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1.  King County supports disaster mitigation efforts and regional disaster planning.
2.  Twenty-one public agencies including King County have already contributed to the plan, and are signatories to it.
3.  King County and other jurisdictions within King County have expressed a cooperative interest in disaster mitigation planning efforts.
4.  Additional agencies are expected to join the plan through adoption of their annexes by their individual legislative action.
5.  Regular revisions and updates to the plan are required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency ("FEMA").
6.  A locally adopted plan reviewed and approved by FEMA is required under the Mitigation Act of 2000, 44 C.F.R. 201.
      BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  The King County council hereby approves and adopts the Multi-Jurisdictional Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan as approved by FEMA, Attachment A to this ordinance.
