Title

AN ORDINANCE relating to voters' pamphlets; amending Ordinance 8113, Section 1, as amended, and K.C.C.1.10.010 and repealing Ordinance 8113, Section 6, and K.C.C.1.10.050.

Body

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:

                     SECTION 1.  Ordinance 8113, Section 1, as amended, and K.C.C.1.10.010 are hereby amended to read as follows:

                     A.  ((Publication and distribution of)) The department of elections shall publish and distribute a ((countywide)) local voters' pamphlet in conformity with ((the provisions of)) chapter 29A.32 RCW((,)) for all primary, general and special elections ((and primaries and for special elections when a county elective office or ballot measure is to appear on the ballot is hereby authorized)).

                     B.  The countywide pamphlet shall include:

                       1.  All King County elective offices and ballot measures; and

                       2.  Elective offices and ballot measures of all cities, towns and special taxing districts located entirely or partly within King County, unless specifically exempted by the council as provided by RCW 29A.32.220(2)((; and

                       3.  Elective offices and ballot measures of cities, towns and special taxing districts located partly within King County and partly within another county, if requested by the city, town or special taxing district

                     C.  If a countywide local voters’ pamphlet is not published for a special election, publication and distribution of a jurisdiction-specific local voters’ pamphlet is authorized if requested by a city, town or special taxing district located wholly or partly within King County)).

                     SECTION 2.  Ordinance 8113, Section 6, and K.C.C.1.10.050 are hereby repealed.
