Title
A MOTION authorizing the Chair to enter into an agreement with Delta Dental for insurance services.
Body
WHEREAS, by Resolutions FCD2019-16 and 2019-17, the King County Flood Control Zone District Board of Supervisors ("the Board") authorized the direct employment of the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director by the District, and authorized the Chair and Vice Chair to execute any contracts within the Executive Committee's delegated spending authority on behalf of the King County Flood Control Zone District ("the District") that are necessary to implement the direct employment of both positions, and
WHEREAS, by Resolution FCD2020-04, the Board created the positions of Engineer and Budget/Fiscal Analyst for the District, and
WHEREAS, by Resolution FCD2020-17, the Board created the position of Administrative Manager/Clerk of the Board for the District, and
WHEREAS, the District desires to meet to provide dental insurance benefits with Washington Delta Dental to provide the District's employees comparable to those provided to employees of King County, including the Delta Dental insurance plan, and
WHEREAS, the Executive Committee may waive the District's procurement policies for insurance purchases within its signatory authority, and desires to do so because the selection of Delta Dental as the vendor for this purpose was necessary to provide District employees with insurance comparable to those provided to employees of King County;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT:
SECTION 1. The chair of the King County Flood Control Zone District is authorized to execute an agreement with Delta Dental of Washington for insurance services in an amount not to meet or exceed $100,000, and in a form acceptable to legal counsel for the District.
