Title

A MOTION approving a job description for the position of clerk and executive director of the board of appeals and equalization.

Body

                     WHEREAS, the board of appeals and equalization ("the board") is an independent body organized to adjudicate appeals of various determinations made by certain King County agencies, and

                     WHEREAS, the board comprised of seven citizen members appointed by the King County executive and confirmed by a majority of the King County council, and

                     WHEREAS, when performing its duties as prescribed by state law, chapter 84.48 RCW, Article 7 of the King County Charter and K.C.C. chapter 2.34, the board's goal is to provide an impartial hearing environment that protects each party's due process rights and results in a fair decisions, and

                     WHEREAS, the board's work has become more complicated and requires a higher level of internal management and staff support;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

                     The job description of clerk and executive director for the board of appeals and equalization is approved as Attachment A to this motion.
