Title

A MOTION related to public transportation, approving the King County Metro Agency Safety Plan, in accordance with the Federal Transit Administration's Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan regulations.

Body

                     WHEREAS, Federal Transit Administration ("FTA") regulations, set forth in 49 C.F.R. Part 673, require all direct and primary recipients of FTA funding to submit a Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan to the FTA regional office by December 31, 2020, and

                     WHEREAS, the Agency Safety Plan and subsequent updates must be signed by the Accountable Executive and approved by the agency's Board of Directors or an Equivalent Authority, under 49 C.F.R. Sec. 673.11(a)(1) (2019), and

                     WHEREAS, the King County Metro transit department, as a transit provider and direct recipient of FTA funding, developed the King County Metro Agency Safety Plan in compliance with 49 CFR Part 673 and other applicable federal regulations;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

                     The county hereby approves the King County Metro Agency Safety Plan, which is Attachment A to this motion. The council requests the executive to

transmit a copy of Attachment A to this motion, with a copy of the final, signed Signature Report of this motion attached as Appendix A, to the Federal Transit Administration.
