Title

A RESOLUTION amending the interlocal agreement between King County and the King County Flood Control Zone District to extend its term.

Body

                     WHEREAS, the King County Flood Control Zone District ("the District") and King County ("the County") have entered into an Interlocal Agreement Between King County and the King County Flood Control Zone District Regarding Flood Protection Services, and

                     WHEREAS, the District and the County desire to continue to operate under the terms of the interlocal agreement until a new one can be negotiated and adopted, and

                     WHEREAS, the parties extended the interlocal agreement up to December 31, 2020, to allow for the negotiation of a new interlocal agreement, and

                      WHEREAS, the parties desire to further extend the interlocal agreement to the end of the year, to ensure the parties have enough time to negotiate the new interlocal agreement and have it adopted by both parties;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT:

                     SECTION 1.  The Board of Supervisors approves the Third Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement Between King County and the King County Flood Control Zone District Regarding Flood Protection Services, which is Attachment A to this resolution,

and authorizes the chair of the Board of Supervisors to sign an amendment extending the Agreement for a date prior to December 31, 2020.
