Title

A MOTION acknowledging receipt of the human papillomavirus vaccination plan in compliance with the 2019-2020 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 18835, Section 95, Proviso P2, developing a plan to achieve United States Department of Health and Human Services's Healthy People 2020 target of eighty percent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine series completion of county residents between eleven and seventeen years old.

Body

                     WHEREAS, the 2019-2020 Biennial Budget, Ordinance 18835, Section 95, Proviso P2, requires the executive to transmit a plan to achieve the United States Department of Health and Human Services's Healthy People 2020 target of eighty percent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine series completion of county residents between eleven and seventeen years old, and

                     WHEREAS, the plan includes the following:

                     1.  Funding options that evaluate both existing and new revenue sources;

                     2.  Strategies to collaborate and coordinate with various stakeholders including schools, churches, health care providers, hospitals, community organizations, local jurisdictions and state agencies;

                     3.  Identification of potential challenges and plans to mitigate those challenges; and

                     4.  A timeline for achieving eighty percent vaccination of county residents that align with Healthy People 2020 objectives, and

                     WHEREAS, the executive is further required to submit a motion that acknowledges receipt of the plan by June 30, 2019;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

                     The receipt of the Human Papillomavirus Vaccination Plan for King County

Proviso Response, which is Attachment A to this motion, in compliance with 2019-2020 Biennial Budget, Ordinance 18835, Section 95, Proviso P2, is hereby acknowledged.
