Title

A MOTION directing King County to implement the recommendations from the independent audit report relating to real estate acquisitions and property management policy and procedures.

Body

                     WHEREAS, the King County, through the water and land resources division ("WLRD"), is the primary service provider for the King County Flood Control Zone District ("the District"), and

                     WHEREAS, WLRD acquires land to support the work of the District, and

                     WHEREAS, the District desires its service provider to use industry best practices, and

                     WHEREAS, WLRD commissioned an independent audit to determine whether its real estate acquisition management controls, policies and procedures are consistent with industry best practices, and

                     WHEREAS, the independent audit report contains recommendations for process change to ensure WLRD's real estate acquisition management control, policies and procedures are consistent with industry best practices;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT:

                     SECTION 1.  The District directs WLRD to implement the recommendations contained in the King County - Water and Land Resources Division Real Estate Acquisition and Property Management-Policy and Procedures Report, dated August 29, 2018, as set forth in Attachment A to this motion.
