Title

A MOTION confirming the executive's appointment of the members of the King County 4Culture task force.

Body

                     WHEREAS, Ordinance 18684 made a number of organizational and structural changes to the cultural development authority of King County, known as 4Culture, and

WHEREAS, to evaluate the implementation of these changes and to assess and evaluate 4Culture's governance structure, including, but not limited to, its grant award processes, through an equity and social justice lens, the ordinance created a 4Culture task force, and

WHEREAS, the ordinance required that, no later than ninety days after the adoption of the ordinance, the executive was to appoint members of the 4Culture task force including, but not limited to, one representative from the King County council, one representative for the King County executive, one representative for the cultural development authority, one representative for Cultural Access Washington, one representative for the Sound Cities Association, and at least nine representatives of organizations supporting underrepresented populations or smaller arts, culture, heritage or historic preservation organizations in King County, and

                     WHEREAS, on July 20, 2018, the executive transmitted proposed motions confirming the appointments of twenty-seven members to the 4Culture task force, and

                     WHEREAS, the  committee of the whole reviewed and reported out to the council "do pass - consent" recommendations on each of the proposed motions at its meeting on July 25, 2018, and expedited the proposed motions to the council for action at the council's July 30, 2018, meeting, and

WHEREAS, in the process of review, the committee of the whole approved technical amendments to several of the motions that had the effect of making the board profile that is an attachment to each of the motions incorrect, and

WHEREAS, to ensure that the board profile is correct and in the interest of legislative simplicity, this motion replaces the twenty-seven transmitted proposed motions with a single motion that confirms the members of the 4Culture task force;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

                     The county executive's appointment of the following individuals to the King County 4Culture task force, for terms to expire on September 30, 2019, are hereby confirmed:

1.  Dominica Myers, as the district one representative;

2.  Sharon Williams, as the district two representative;

3.  Janell Johnson, as the district three representative;

4.  Julie Ziegler, as the district four representative;

5.  Lawrence Ellis, as the district five representative and the sound cities association alternate representative;

6.  Kelly Dylla, as the district six representative;

7.  Jeanne Burbidge, as the district seven representative;

8.  Tera Beach, as the district eight representative;

9.  Scott Gray, as the district nine representative;

10.  Carolyn Busch, as the representative of the King County council;

11.  Jennifer Meisner, as the representative for the King County executive;

12.  Brian Carter, as the cultural development authority representative;

13.  Dwight Gee as the representative of Cultural Access Washington;

14.  Ronda Billerbeck, as the representative for the Sound Cities Association;

15.  Shannon Halberstadt;

16.  Mari Horita;

17.  Manny Cawaling;
