Title

AN ORDINANCE authorizing the execution of a new lease to support the operation of the King County department of information technology.

Body

STATEMENT OF FACTS:

1.  The facilities management division received a request for space on April 3, 2015, from the department of information technology.

2.  The department of information technology needed space for the purpose of network carrier neutral facilities that provide direct connectivity to domestic, international and government networks and internet services.

3.  The facilities management division determined on April 3, 2015, that there was not an appropriate county-owned option.

4.  The facilities management division determined, through consultation with the department, that leasing was the most cost-effective option for the county.

5.  The facilities management division successfully negotiated to lease space from 2001 Sixth, LLC, located at 2001 Sixth Avenue, Seattle, Washington, within council district four.

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:

                     SECTION 1.  The executive is authorized to execute a lease for the property located at 2001 Sixth Avenue with 2001 Sixth, LLC, substantially in the form of Attachment A to this ordinance, and to take all actions necessary to implement the terms of the lease.
