AN ORDINANCE renaming the department of community and human services mental health, chemical abuse and dependency services division; and amending Ordinance 11955, Section 6, as amended, and K.C.C. 2.16.130, amending Ordinance 15327, Section 5, as amended, and K.C.C 2.43.025 and Ordinance 16077, Section 4, as amended, and K.C.C. 2.130.010.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1. The department of community and human services mental health, chemical abuse and dependency services division will become the behavioral health organization for King County in accordance with Chapter 225, Laws of Washington 2014, which requires and authorizes the integrated purchasing of mental health and substance use treatment services through managed care and the full integration of physical and behavioral health care by 2020.
2. The new King County behavioral health organization will replace the current regional support network and county chemical dependency coordinator and will administer integrated services for individuals receiving publicly funded mental health and/or substance use treatment services in the county.
3. Because behavioral health integration and the integration of physical and behavioral health is now a key mission of the department of community and human services, it is appropriate to rename the mental health, chemical abuse and dependency services division to become the behavioral health and recovery division to better reflect this mission.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
SECTION 1. Ordinance 11955, Section 6, as amended, and K.C.C. 2.16.130 are each hereby amended to read as follows:
A. The department of community and human services is responsible to manage and be fiscally accountable for the community services division, ((mental health, chemical abuse and dependency services)) the behavioral health and recovery division and the developmental disabilities division.
