Title
AN ORDINANCE relating to fees for electronic documents that are filed with district court that require extra handling, and for paper documents that are filed with district court that do not comply with electronic filing requirements; and adding a new section to K.C.C. chapter 4A.634.
Body
      BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  A.  Section 2 of this ordinance adopts fees for electronic documents requiring extra handling and for paper documents that are filed with district court that do not comply with electronic filing requirements that may be imposed by district court under Washington State Court Rules, General Rule 30 (GR 30).
      B.  These fees are assessed under GR 30.
NEW SECTION.  SECTION 2.  There is hereby added to K.C.C. chapter 4A.634 a new section to read as follows:
      A.  The district court may assess a fee of twenty dollars to anyone who files an electronic document that requires special handling because of errors, failure to follow court rules or statutes or lack of completeness
      B.  The district court may assess a fee of fifty dollars to each attorney who files a
paper document that is required by court rule to be electronically filed, without obtaining an approved waiver from electronic filing from the district court.
