Title
A MOTION adopting the 2014 work plan for the transportation, economy and environment committee.
Body
      WHEREAS, the responsibilities of the transportation, economy and environment committee for 2014 is detailed in Motion 14069 unless a new motion is passed, and
      WHEREAS, Motion 14069 charges the transportation, economy and environment committee with considering and making policy recommendations relating to:
        1.  Growth management, including land use development and regulation, comprehensive planning, economic development including pay equity and income disparity, annexations and affordable housing;
        2.  The environment, including:  salmon recovery; resource lands; energy; surface water management and water supply; wastewater treatment; solid waste; and unincorporated and rural areas, including agriculture and rural services; and parks, recreation and cultural resources; and
        3.  Transportation, including roads and public transportation, and
      WHEREAS, the committee shall also consider  the implementation of appropriate labor agreements, and
      WHEREAS, in the areas within the committee's purview, the committee shall track state and federal legislative action and develop recommendations on policy direction for the county's annual budget, and
      WHEREAS, the committee has developed a work plan for 2014 to facilitate its review and development of policy options and recommendations on these and other issues, and
      WHEREAS, the committee seeks full council support for its work plan;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      A.  The transportation, economy and environment committee's 2014 work plan, attached to this motion, is hereby accepted.
      B.  The committee may amend the work plan as other issues within the committee's purview arise.
