AN ORDINANCE authorizing King County to enter into an interlocal cooperative agreement with the Washington State Patrol and the cities of Bellevue, Black Diamond, Bothell, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond and Snoqualmie for the creation of a King County investigative response team in order to provide mutual aid police services.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1.  Multiple police agencies with jurisdictions in King County desire to combine resources for the purpose of investigating law enforcement-involved fatal or serious injury incidents by creating a King County investigative response team.
2.  One of the goals of the King County sheriff's office is to be a strong partner in law enforcement with other police agencies in King County.
3.  Participation in the agreement is to the benefit of the citizens of King County.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  The county executive is hereby authorized to execute an interlocal cooperative agreement between King County, the Washington State Patrol and the cities of Bellevue, Black Diamond, Bothell, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond and Snoqualmie, in substantially the form of Attachment A to this ordinance, for the creation of a King County investigative response team in order to provide mutual aid police services.
