AN ORDINANCE relating to comprehensive planning and permitting; and amending Ordinance 17485.

      BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  Findings.  For the purposes of effective land use planning and regulation, the King County council makes the following legislative findings:
      A.  King County has adopted the 2012 King County Comprehensive Plan to meet the requirements of the Washington State Growth Management Act ("the GMA");
      B.  The GMA requires that the Comprehensive Plan and development regulations be subject to continuing review and evaluation by the county;
      C.  The King County Code authorizes a review of the Comprehensive Plan annually and to make amendments that are technical or corrective, or that do not require substantive changes to policy language;
      D.  The GMA requires that King County adopt development regulations to be consistent with and implement the Comprehensive Plan;
      SECTION 2.  A.  As part of is continuing review, King County amended the 2012 Comprehensive Plan.
      B.  The amendments to the adopted 2012 King County Comprehensive Plan contained in Attachments A and B to this ordinance are hereby adopted as amendments to the 2012 King County Comprehensive Plan, Attachment A to Ordinance 17485.  Attachment A to this ordinance amends the policies, text and maps of the Comprehensive Plan, Attachment A to Ordinance 17485.  Attachment B is the Shorelines of the State Map to be inserted at the end of Chapter 5, Shorelines, of the Comprehensive Plan, Attachment A to Ordinance 17485.
      SECTION 3.  If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any person or
circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance or the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected.
