A RESOLUTION relating to the subregional opportunity fund, re-allocating unexpended opportunity funds of the City of Snoqualmie; and authorizing a new opportunity fund project for the City of Snoqualmie.

WHEREAS, the King County Flood Control Zone District ("District") established a subregional opportunity fund program for King County and King County jurisdictions through resolution FCZD2008-10.2; and
WHEREAS, the City of Snoqualmie and the District have executed an “Interlocal Cooperation Agreement Between the King County Flood Control Zone District and the City of Snoqualmie for Opportunity Fund Projects,” as authorized by Resolution FCD 2009-02.1 (“Interlocal Cooperation Agreement”); and
WHEREAS, after completing the opportunity fund projects authorized by the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement, the City of Snoqualmie has an unexpended balance of $71,416 from opportunity fund distributions in the years 2008 through 2012; and
WHERAS, the City of Snoqualmie desires to use most of the unexpended balance for a feasibility study and partial design of an engineered solution to a serious erosion problem at Sandy Cove Park on the Snoqualmie River; and
WHERAS, the City of Snoqualmie has requested the District to approve a re-allocation of $65,350 of the unexpended balance for a new opportunity fund project, called the Sandy Cove Park project, which is contained in the City of Snoqualmie's approved Hazard Mitigation Plan and conforms to the subregional fund eligibility criteria; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT:
SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors approves the City of Snoqualmie subregional opportunity fund the Sandy Cove Park project in the amount of $65,350. The Sandy Cove Park project shall comply with requirements and procedures of the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement.
