Title
A MOTION acknowledging receipt of the King County assessor's response to the 2012 Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 17232, Section 41, Proviso P1, regarding the personal property audit pilot program.
Body
      WHEREAS, the King County assessor created in 2012 a personal property audit pilot program to increase compliance and education in business personal property tax collection, and
      WHEREAS, the assessor's personal property audit program has produced good results in 2012 and generated revenue for King County in excess of the cost of the program for 2012, and
      WHEREAS, the assessor's personal property audit program has increased fairness in business personal property tax collection through increased compliance, accuracy and education;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The council acknowledges receipt of the assessor's response to the 2012 Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 17232, Section 41, Proviso P1, attached as Attachment A to this
motion and the $100,000 of the 2012 Assessments budget that was held in reserve is hereby authorized to be released.
