AN ORDINANCE authorizing the county executive to enter into an interlocal agreement with Fire District 45 relating to fire investigation services by King County's department of development and environmental services.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1. Fire District 45 has previously secured fire investigation services through an interlocal agreement with King County, which was established in 2000.
2. The 2000 interlocal agreement between King County and Fire District 45 for the provision of fire investigation services will expire December 31, 2005.
3. Fire District 45 intends to retain King County fire investigation services.
4. Fire District 45 has requested to establish a new interlocal agreement for the provision of fire investigation services.
5. The county and the fire district intend, through this interlocal agreement, to provide quality public service within the boundaries of Fire District 45.
6. An agreement relating to the provision of these duties is authorized by the Interlocal Cooperation Act, chapter 39.34 RCW.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The county executive is hereby authorized to enter into the
interlocal agreement, substantially in the form attached, with the boundaries of Fire District 45 for the county to provide fire investigation services within Fire District 45.
